Description
This is a fabulous, unique, handcrafted cloak, made by Carol. This is a medium weight, unlined, hooded cloak suitable for outdoor wear in Spring/Summer/ Autumn. It is made from an acrylic/polyester fabric. It feels very soft and fur like to the touch. There is a hook and eye fastening at the neck concealed beneath a two-button-and-chain fastening which allows the cloak to be worn closed using the hooks, or open (swept back over the shoulders) using the buttons and chain.
This cloak is unisex and designed to fit from about a UK size 10 up to about a UK size 18. This cloak is designed to be very long for an extra tall person and is therefore not as wide as some of the other cloaks. It will fit both men and women. The hood is really roomy and sits well on the head when up, in a scottish widows type style.
From front neck to hem, the length is 54 inches (1.37m). From back neck to hem the length is 54 inches (1.37m).
Full washing instructions are provided with each cloak. This particular cloak needs a 20degree cool wash or cold wash. It does not require ironing.
Symbology
Cloaks and robes are often worn for ritual celebrations. Perhaps this hearkens back to a time when people had to be more secretive and a dark cloak could help conceal your identity as well as keep you warm.
