Neptune - Unmounted rubber stamp

Description

A fabulously detailed unmounted rubber stamp from the USA.  This stamp measures 9.5cm x 6cm. Unmounted stamps are very easy to use and store. Please read the rubber stamping guide in the left hand menu if you are unsure about using unmounted stamps.

Symbology

This is a very unusual stamp based on a Roman commemorative plate and depicting  the Water God Neptune ( Helios). The festival of Neptunalia was celebrated on July 23. Neptune is almost always pictured witt a trident. Aswell as being seen as a God of the sea Neptune is also a God of horses and horse racing.
