Symbology
This stamp depicts a flying witch on her broomstick accompanied by her familiar - a cat.
Brooms have long been associated with witches and are used particularly in cleansing magickal spaces or handfasting rutuals. It may be difficult to believe they are actually used to fly upon but they certainly have a link to astral travel, flying ointments and shamanic journeying.
In some traditions footprints left behind you were felt to be magically vulnerable and a broom may be used to sweep them away.
A cat is the archetypal witches familiar, fiercely independent, magical and cunning. There is much folklore concerning cats, they have nine lives, a black cat crossing your path etc.
